Itsy Bitsy Spider

This little video pretty much sums up Jackson and Porter's relationship. Jackson is all up in his face trying to be with him or play with him. And Porter pretty much likes it and laughs and is happy.

Porter vs. The Blanket

In case you were wondering who is winning....it is Porter.
We keep our kids wrapped (so they don't bop themselves all night long) until they start wiggling out. Burrito-wrapped days are almost over.

How long will it last?

This year I am determined to do another batch at the end of the summer because we eat this way too fast. Wish we had another freezer to store it to our heart's content. Here is our strawberry jam. Jackson will want peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the next forever. As I was cutting the strawberries I would find stems that had already been eaten and put back with the good ones by Jackson. So happy to have yummy strawberry jam again.

Boys and Bugs

Here are a few pictures of the boys. Porter was laying in my  arms on Sunday afternoon. And Jackson was out looking for bugs under rocks. Does it get any better than this?

Adam's Addiction

Where will you find Adam every evening after the kids are all asleep?
I'll tell you were. He is cutting up oranges and squeezing oranges so he will have a nice refreshing cup of orange juice in the morning. But you can hardly blame him. The oranges are so delicious and make such sweet orange juice with just the right tang to it. Sometimes I don't want to tell Jackson that there is any juice. Because you almost don't want to share it is just that good. Seriously amazing. So now you know about Adam's fix every morning.
Even better was the price. The whole box full for $5 on the side of the road just outside of Ventura. Heavenly I tell you.

Wrestle Racing

Jackson really wants a backyard. He had so much fun at Julean's. Especially on the tramp when all the boys played "wrestle racing". What a fun time we had.

California Adventure

Playing

We had a fun time down at Disneyland - California Adventure. Jackson's favorite thing was riding in the bumper cars with his Dad. Like a dream come true for him to drive a car. Thanks for the tickets Jim & Rona.

Going to Julean's

Jackson and bear are buckled and ready to go to Julean's house. We had such a nice time.  The boys were both wonderful on the drive down there and slept part of the time. We stopped at the Volcom outlet and found a few deals. It was really fun to see the James' family and let them love sweet little Porter. They were so nice to him. And we enjoyed playing, eating, and visiting with them. Jackson wants a backyard just like theirs. And when we got home he pretended we were at Julean's house and kept calling me Julean.

Yummy Supper

I  made a poothie (smoothie) and an omelette for lunch last week. I don't think there is anything quite as fabulous as a compliment from your child, but Jackson kept telling me thank you for supper and that it tasted so good. He's never called it supper before, but in the book the wild things his supper is still hot at the end of the book. I think that is where he heard it. I'm so glad that he picks up on things and that he is such a sweet boy that will eat what I make (at least he did today). And I love our smoothie maker too.

Self Awareness

Porter is definitely becoming interested in the world around him. It is fun to watch. He is fascinated with his hands and also loves to eat them. He loves to have Jackson talk to him, show him toys, and sing to him (especially if he is not squashing him). He is such a sweet little boy. Here he is checking out some toys.

Projects I've been working on...

I decided to make a present for a baby shower, and ended up doing a hooded towel. It was pretty fun and turned out good. I just need to remember to leave room to finish the end, I had to do some patch work to fix it. But the towel is so soft and thick and will be cozy. I think I will try this again, it is good practice for binding. I have some more baby showers coming up, so I should get plenty of practice.

I am going to try to make some felt play food because it is so stinking cute. This is what I whipped out yesterday - some bow tie pastas. Super easy and fun. Maybe I'll make some sauce to go on it. I want to try making some fruit, cookies, sandwich, and pizza. We'll see how it works out.

Friends

It has been fun to watch other peoples kids so that Jackson has a friend to play with. It has also been a nice break for me to get out every once in a while. This is Jackson with his friend Nick riding the motorcycle. It is pretty funny to watch. You can hear it having to work with two kids on it. Jackson gets along pretty good with any kid, but every now and then  you  have to pull them apart. It is pretty funny to see them wrestle it out.

What big brothers are for...

We went swimming this week and pulled out Jackson's lifejacket and goggles. He quickly had to try things on his little bro. We went to a community pool and had a blast. Jackson swam all over the place with his jacket on and Porter fell asleep in his carseat. Perfect afternoon. We will go with Cami again sometime soon.

Happy Birthday to ME

I had a really nice birthday. It was a pretty laid back day. The boys made me breakfast in bed - apple cider syrup and pancakes. Then after church we had a bunch of friends over for cake and ice cream. I loved the lemon ice cream. It was delicious. All in all, a great day.

Root Beer Floats

We went on a bike ride last weekend and ended up at A& W for root beer floats. Perfect weather, perfect night.

Tasting

Jackson couldn't wait to taste my birthday. We made the cake and frostings a couple of days before, but he knew he had to wait until Sunday. He kept telling me he could hardly wait to taste my birthday on sunday.
