Jackson's Birthday Bash

Seeing as Jackson was turning 4 and we were going to be leaving California we knew we had to go to the beach for a party. I'm so happy that we did. We had so many people come and had such a fun time playing all day long. Cyndie and I had a great time out in the ocean and I already miss that wonderful beach.

How cool are our friends?

We had a sweet going away party before we left. It was very sad to leave so many very good friends. I still don't like to think about it. It seemed more like we had a going away week and had parties every night. You know who you are and know that you are missed dearly.

I loved the invitation

If you weren't there you missed out on some seriously good treats. Home made cream puffs, prize winning cookies, rum cake with strawberries, and cupcakes to name a few.

Jackson's Art

Luckily Jackson participated in a three week play school at our High School right before we moved. I can't tell you how perfect it was to have three hours three times a week to pack up our stuff. And for Jacks to have other kids to play with and attention from all the teachers. However I was not willing to pack up anymore than I had to and these beauties are now only a memory.

Here is some more artwork we had to leave behind. Now we will just have to start again.

We've moved

Tammy

Tammy came to visit us from Chicago. She can come back again anytime. First of all my kids fell in love with her (who could resist as she is running around helping Jackson get the monsters and playing memory) but it was so fun for me to visit with her and go a few places. And she is happy to go anywhere and do anything. Plus I was sick and she was nice about me wiping my nose every two seconds.

So we went to Alcatraz Island which was a blast. We all really liked it a lot. Adam was there, but we didn't get any pictures with him in it. He was actually a little ahead of us on the audio tour holding Porter who fell asleep. Props to him for carrying a heavy child around for hours. And when our paths would cross I would hide behind other people. Jackson listened to the tour for a while and the rest of the time just walked around or rode in the stroller. It was funny because afterwards he was telling someone about our trip and how they kept people in cages. Which is kind of true. It was funny trying to explain prison to an (almost) 4 year old. Just another good reason to do as your mother tells you.

We also went to our little zoo and park where Jackson was in charge of all the picture taking. We have some great pictures of monkeys and rabbit hutches, etc. And he made us pose for this picture by the tortoise and set up the timer and everything. It was a hot, hot day and we had to cool off in the fountains at the park and eat lemonade popsicles. We also watched boy in the striped pajamas, which I couldn't decide if I liked it and then I decided that I did. But it is very sad. But it made me think. Which I like.

Thanks Tammy for remembering us on your whirlwind vacation! We're so happy that we got too see you!

Sand

A few weekends ago we went to our favorite beach with just our little family. We didn't know if we could keep everybody entertained all day long, but we did. The boys played and played and played. Adam and I both had a chance to get in the water. It was a wonderful day. Adam made a canal for the boys where the water would come in. Jackson enjoyed a little time in the water too.
